Alpacandes Alpaca Stud began life in 1994. It started as a lifestyle decision, with the purchase of two females. Before long our herd had increased considerably, with further purchases and our first cria. Some 13 years later, we had approximately 100 alpacas, and the quality of our herd had vastly improved, due to our choice of the best sires available at any particular time.

In 2003 we purchased an elite sire in Encantador Centurion from a leading stud in W.A.. Winner of Champion Senior Male at the AAA National Shows in 2002 and 2003, and now our No. 1 herd sire.

Beginning in 2005, we took part in the exciting embryo transfer (ET) program with Dr Jane Vaughan, accelerating the quality improvement in our herd.

Recently, in conjunction with Millpaca Stud, Berry, we purchased another top stud male, Banksia Park Mystic Challenge ET, after he had been awarded Champion Mature Male at the '2010 National Show' in Tamworth. We look forward to the arrival of his first cria on the east coast later in 2011.
